Starlight

Starlight is the UK’s leading wish-granting charity and the only charity providing fun, entertainment, laughter to half a million sick children in every hospital and hospice nationwide.

All Starlight’s activities are aimed at distracting children from the pain, fear and isolation they can often feel as a result of their illness and at strengthening family bonds at what is often a time of great stress.

Starlight Wishes give desperately ill children the chance to live their dreams, as well as giving their families precious memories to share and cherish, whatever the future holds.

Happily, some 70% of Starlight children go on to get better. Time and time again, parents say they believe their child’s Starlight wish marked the turning point in their illness.
