In recent years the world has seen a steady increase in the frequency and complexity of humanitarian crises. There is a growing need to ensure that relief workers have adequate training so that they are able to respond to disasters quickly and effectively.

For 30 years, RedR has been at the forefront of professional disaster relief, training and recruiting aid workers. This last year, we trained over 3,400 relief workers in 20 different countries. The training covered everything from water and sanitation to logistics, personal security and health. By training aid workers to be fully prepared for emergency situations, RedR is ensuring that those people whose lives have been torn apart by a natural disaster or conflict receive the appropriate help. Having sufficiently prepared personnel arrive on the scene of a disaster as it unfolds means that those who have lost everything gain access to clean water, adequate sanitation and shelter quickly; and that the safety of the aid workers responding is not compromised.
