For 27 years RedR has been responding to disasters and helping to rebuild lives through our training, recruitment and support services. We placed engineers and other technical experts in response to major catastrophes including the Ethiopian famine, the genocide in Rwanda and the crises in Bosnia and Kosovo. More recently we have run programmes in response to the Pakistan earthquake, the Asian tsunami and the deteriorating security situations in Afghanistan and Sudan.

However, RedR is not just about responding to emergencies. Long after the media spotlight has moved on and the immediate effects of the disaster have subsided, RedR continues to fulfil a vital function, equipping local people with the skills and knowledge they need to rebuild their lives and communities, whilst preparing them for the next emergency. RedR needs voluntary income both to continue to develop our vital work and to help us prepare for the next emergency.
