Headway - the brain injury association
Brain injury is the foremost cause of death and disability in young people. It is estimated that there are 135,000 people
in the UK who require long term care after surviving a severe brain injury.
Headway – the brain injury association is the leading UK charity dedicated to promoting understanding of all aspects of
brain injury and to providing information, support and services to people who have sustained a brain injury, their families
and carers.
At a local level Headway has a network of more than 110 local groups, which provide emotional support to families,
respite and care services for brain injury survivors.
At Headway we transform the lives of those who use our services. Please help us to continue to do that by supporting
our work.
If you or anyone you know has been affected by brain injury, please call us on our Freephone Helpline –
